The Last King Of Scotland (DVD): ... Is It? The Last King Of Scotland is based on the real life of the presidency of Idi Amin. This is a semi-fictional story based in Uganda, with big connections with Scotland. It is not nessicarily for historical use, but bits and pieces could be extracted for this. When Was It Released Released in January 2007 and released on DVD on 14th March. So it hasn t been out for very long. It is one of the most successf...

ed2288 Donnie Darko - Director's Cut (DVD)
... is one of the best films I ve seen in a very long time. Basically the story revolves around a troubled teenager living in 1980 s American suburbia, Donnie Darko. Donnie has a psychological illness that requires medication and visits to a therapist. He starts having visions of a hideous man-in-a-rabbit-suit who goes by the name of Frank. Frank tells Donnie about things that are going to happen, and what to do about it. I m going to leave the plot there - I don t want to spoil it for you! The filming was beautiful, the soundtrack exquisite and the acting believable, all mixing together to create a wonderful piece of art. My only gripe is the story is rather on the comp...

JohnC1977 Dirty Dancing (DVD)
... I actually secretly adored this film when I was younger (although I would never admit that to anyone and definitely not to my male friends who are always more interested in films where people shoot guns and there are explosions and it does no harm if there is an evil drug cartel involved somewhere) I don t think it has stood up very well to the test of time - like some films from this time has. A seemly ordinary guy thrust into extraordinary circumstances, Tom is thrust into the national media spotlight and despite his attempts to avoid the spotlight he is soon praised as a hero. Days later Carl Fogerty(Ed Harris) shows up claiming that Tom is really homicidal gangster Joey Cusack from Philadelphia. Tom obviously denies the claim but who is he really? David Cronenbergs most mainstream film to date. A History of Violence explored themes of identity, family and the manipulative effect of violence on Nick Stall and his family...
