Miracle On 34th Street [1994] (DVD) ... think that it is fast becoming a Christmas tradition that this film is now shown every year around this time. I was in for a shock this year when I sat down to watch it though as my eldest, William who is 7, can and snuggled up and sat and watched the whole thing and thoroughly enjoyed ever bit of it. This is a FILM ONLY review. Kris Kringle is a happy old man who lands himself a job working as Santa in Coles department store. Black Snake Moan (DVD) ... d kind of half seen this a while back, but never really concentrated. I missed the majority of the beginning, saw snippets of the middle, and didn t really get it. However, last night, I watched the whole thing from start to finish, and found it rather a good film. Strange in places, efinitely, with a few messages here and there, and some excellent musical work from Samuel L Jackson, of all people. Jackson plays Lazarus, a religious man suffering emotionally and going from day to day without anything to occupy him other than his beloved fruit and veg.
