Advantages: The Bad Acting Is Hilarious
Disadvantages: Pointless Low Budget Movie
This is one of those films that I am sure that none of you will have seen and I very much doubt that will change after this review. Due to this reason I was not surprised that the search returned no results under this movie, so of course I used to the great suggestion feature and within a few days I was able to write a review for Drive Thru which I am doing here.
Now you may be reading this review for many different reasons. Maybe you are in my circle of friends and check my latest reviews out or you are simply returning a rate and quickly checking this out. However whatever reason I am sure you did not type Drive Thru into the search and maybe one thing that did attract you to this review was the title, 'Horny The Clown'. I assure you this is no gimmick and this movie is in fact about Horny The Clown. I will talk more about this unique clown at a later point.

Plot
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
This is the unforgettable story about the faithful mascot of Hella Burger, Horny The Clown. Mackenzie Carpenter becomes the target for Horny The Clown and he begins stalking her and killing her friends of one by one in gruesome murders. She must face her fears and face the clown in a thrilling finale so she can learn who Horny The Clown really is and what he really wants....
My Opinion
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
You know it is not often I watch films just because I know they are going to be really bad. I know there are members like Hogsflesh and Ailran, sorry if I misspelt either of your username, who absolutely love watching bad films and reviewing them. A lot of their reviews are one star films that no one has heard of and the comments generally reflect this. There is some sort of sad pleasure from it I think and I experienced that in this case.
However I feel there are two different types of bad films. You get the film that is really bad all round and just a general one star film, or you get a bad film, that knows it is bad and in the end happens to be fairly amusing, so for me this would be a two star film. Consequently Drive Thru is one of these two star films.
I will focus more on the positives here as the negatives would take a year to go through. Basically if you are looking for a funny horror, than look no further than this film. The title itself suggests what the film is about and how ridiculous it will be. A 'Horny Clown' goes around killing off random people in the most sadistic funny ways.
The first scene sets the whole plot off and sorry if I use any politically incorrect words here but there was a bunch of 'wiggas' in a van driving through and just their conversation to each other was so funny. Especially when they were trying to chat back to horny the clown and then the clown got mad and slashed them up. This in itself makes the viewer like the clown, although in all fairness they did make him slightly creepy, and from then on a lot of us will be rooting for the clown.
This is what I said before when I said that the makers knew it was bad. They fully intended to hire very bad actors for this first scene who just talk ridiculous to make the viewers laugh. They know that the acting through the movie is bad and there are ridiculous special effects, but this film is just a bit of fun.
Also Leighton Meester and Penn Badgley are in Gossip Girl and Melora Hardin has had a half decent career, so at least there are some recognised names in the cast. There are a lot of cast members that have very little experience and this shows, but for a movie like this it really does not matter. The actors playing the detectives were as amusing as the rest of the characters, and if the roles had been taken seriously the overall effect of the movie would have been reduced.
I doubt I will ever check this movie out again, but I did find it amusing to watch, especially with friends. It's IMDB score of 4.8 reflects how good the movie is with around 2-2.5 stars. I imagine it would be pretty hard to watch this movie, but I am sure there are copies online. I wouldn't recommend paying for it though, but it is a good pass time.
In my eyes this is a comedy horror that punches well above its weight. It really should be one of the worst films ever made, however it turned out to be watchable just as its fun to laugh at and spot all the flaws and also to root for 'Horny The Clown'.
