It was so long watching this movie but i got to see it again on DVD last time i watched it was on TV and that was ages ago. Rik Mayall does some of his classic stuff he did in the young ones and bottom.

The story is all about Lizzie (Phoebe Cates) she had a childhood imagery friend called Drop Dead Fred (Rik Mayall). Lizzie was the only one who could see him. Drop Dead Fred is there to make things better. Well now Lizzie has gotten older and her life is started going down she finds a jack in a box and opens it and then comes Drop Dead Fred to find her all grown up. Now Fred has to help Lizzie with getting back with her boyfriend and if Lizzie does not get happy means Fred would have to stay with her longer.

The acting is good and some is bad Marsha Mason i found boring she played Polly Cronin she's Lizzie's mother the character was boring and shes over protective she treats Lizzie as a child which is really annoying. Tim Matheson who plays Charles this guy looked way to old for that part and he was even more boring then ever.

What i can say though the rest of the cast are good Phoebe Cates plays are part well and i enjoyed her character. Rik Mayall plays the best part pure comedy thrown in by him no one else would of been able to pull out the comedy what Rik gives is the best and here he makes this movie great.

The DVD sadly has no Special Features this was probably due to be been old still i would have loved to have seen some special features.

This movie though is funny and entertaining thrown in with British comedy well worth watching.
