... find the car as it might make or break their relationships. Along the way lots of crazy stuff happens as they slowly remember what actually happened the night before. From here the plot focuses on whether they get their car back and the events of the night before. The premise is simple as is the movie. However, if you don't take it too seriously the film is quite funny. Kutcher and Scott are good in their roles if not a little over the top in some scenes. Jenifer Garner provides some glamour to procedings. The humour...more

Premium Review Dude Wheres's my Car? (DVD): Dude? Where's My Jokes? (679 words)
by - written on 26/10/01 (Very useful, 130 readings)
Rating:

I'm sorry but if there is anything good to say about this movie then it would have to be that it is a mercifully short movie by recent Hollywood standards. I knew it would be rubbish before I sat down to watch it - I had read the reviews, from the pros, Dooyooers and on other crappier consumer sites but someone else rented it, it was still in the VCR and there was nothing on television so I sat through it... 20 minutes in I found that my java programming assignment began to look 110% more appealing than it had done before and by 30 minutes I had my lap-top booted up and was wroking on it. I stayed with the movie in the vain hope that it might get just a ...  Read the complete review

Premium Review Dude - This should not be funny! (1024 words)
by - written on 21/06/01 (Very useful, 321 readings)
Rating:

Dude - Where's my Car? (known as DWMC hereafter) is a film that I really wanted to dislike. Everything about this film goes against what I enjoy in a comedy, and much of the film really shouldn't have been funny at all! However, I still managed to laugh almost continually all the way through, and as much as I'd like to say I did not enjoy this film, I simply cannot. Plain and simple, this is one hell of a funny movie! Its very very childish, many of the characters are foolish, and the dialogue is only at pre-pubescent level at best, so why the hell did I enjoy this film so much? I guess I just must be a big kid at heart!! The acting ...  Read the complete review

Dude Wheres's my Car? (DVD): Disappointing! (614 words)
by - written on 21/04/01
Rating:

If I had to describe my foremost reaction to ’Dude Where’s My Car?’ in one teensy-bitsy word I’d just yell out ’Wasted’! Yes that’s what it was a wasted basket case of a movie. Just when you think you’ve had enough of toilet humor heaven a no good film maker like Danny Lenier and writer Phillip Stark ( the writer behind ’That 70’s show’) gets before our faces a totally daft teen screwball fare that practically tears the insides of your brain and leaves it all out to dry in some freaking’ mid day sun. A teen comedy fete gone horribly wrong in the sense and taste department with a story is as ...  Read the complete review

Premium Review Laughter all the way! (297 words)
by - written on 17/04/01 (Very useful, 48 readings)
Rating:

Frankly this isn’t even a movie. Its a 90 minute childish and stupid tele movie targeted exclusively at the teenage audience. Though the tele movie makes you giggle at intervals, before you recover from the laugh, the movie ends! So here’s what its about. It revolves around 2 pizza delivary teenage boys Chester played by Seann William Scott and his cranky roomy Jesse as in Ashton Kutcher. These two wake up one fine morning unable to remember what happened the previous night. All they know is that they must have had fun. Jesse’s car is missing too(Thats how the movie probably got its title..) and they are anxious to hunt for it as it contains ...  Read the complete review

Premium Review Dude Wheres's my Car? (DVD): Stoner Bashing Time (479 words)
by - written on 10/11/08 (Very useful, 112 readings)
Rating:

Dude, Where's my Car is a very simple film. There is a minimal plot and basically the whole aim of the film is for people to have a laugh at a couple of stoners. Jesse and Chester (Ashton Kutcher and Seann William Scott) wake up one morning with a really bad hangover and no memory of what they did the night before. They hear a message on their answering machine from their girlfriends Wilma and Wanda (Marla Sokoloff and Jennifer Garner) who are angry at them for ruining their house and forgetting their anniversary. Jesse and Chester decide they would have bought good presents for their girlfriends and they would have left them in the car. Problem is, they have ...  Read the complete review
