I'm clearly in a minority here, but I'm going to say it anyway....this movie is dire! And I'm not the only one I know to think so. To be fair, I did laugh a couple of times early on in the film, and the acting is good, especially that of the mother Linda Bassett fighting to keep her family together. My problem was that this appeared to be 2 films stuck together - an inconsequential but harmless comedy for the first half, followed by kitchen-sink drama for the second. Nothing gelled, the film didn't conclude so much as just end, no storyline was drawn to a close. It was just unsatisfactory on so many levels, the spots of humour in the first half were inadequate to make up for the mess of the rest. Sorry to disagree with so many others, clearly, but I'd give this one a miss!
