After discovering Eddie Izzard about 8 years ago in his first video, I have watched everything he has done and seen him live 6 times. He has got to be the cleverest and funniest comedian I have ever seen, with a style that suits almost everybody. Live and Unrepeatable is possibly the best of all of Izzards live shows. It was made during the time when he knew how good he was but we didn't. He had a cult but not huge following, didn't market himself very well and insisted that the video was not released until at least 12 months after the live show had ended so that the paying audience had something over those who did not make the journey. Interesting ... Read the complete review

I first came across Eddie Izzard on that late night Montreal comey festival thing - "Just For Laughs". And even if he wasn't quite as slick as he is now, he still had me incapable with laughter. Every performance is a one off variation on a theme, wonderfully inventive and with an eye for the surreal second to none. I still love the bit about learning French at school, all those useless phrases.....wild escalation of the idea.....actually taking a monkey on holiday so you can stick it up a tree and then casually drop 'le singe est dans l'arbre' into the conversation. His impression of a bird on a plane...being watched ... Read the complete review

Eddie has to be one of the most gifted comedians out there. Sure his image of a transvestite 'lesbian trapped in a man's body' may not appeal to some but I am sure that his use of comedy would appeal to all. Each of his shows is packed with sharp witted humour, often highlighting facets of human nature and sharing memories that we all know are true, it makes you cry laughing. Eddie really is a phenomenon, I would reccommend going to see him at any chance, even if you've never heard him. You always feel that hes a;ways got something to say and that there's a lot of wit left - a genius that gleans humour from the most mudane things. ... Read the complete review

I'm a dog. I dont know! Eddie Izzard is with no shadow of a doubt one of the best comedians we have. An incredibly intelligent man whose knowledge of the world and it's history can only be admired. This 1 of his 5 current videos available on the market, Glorious, Dress to Kill, Definite Article and Eddie Izzard Live at the Ambassadors are the other 4. It is by no means the best of the collection, but undoubtedly the work of pure comedic genius anyway. I wish all four could somehow be melded together to make a seven hour show that I listen to on long car journeys. Izzards' talent to turn the everyday mundane into a world of ... Do you like bread? I've got a french loaf! *boof* *runs off* byeeeeee, i love you!!! Well if that isn't familiar to you then it should be. Taken from Izzard's 'Definite Article' video, it is one of many (and i mean many) highlights. This being the only Izzard area on Dooyoo i thought it was right that i should pay homage to the king of comedy here. He has written mine and my friends bible and made James Mason our god. I first got into, pardon the unintended pun, Eddie Izzard when I saw the video 'Glorious - still my favourite of his stand up shows. It is a classic stand up show and demonstrates a talent that no other stand up I ... Read the complete review
