Dress to Kill was released on video in 1998, after a number of shows performed in America. The video is a recording of one of these shows in San Francisco and is preceded by Eddie narrating of a piece of film showing the people of San Francisco going about their business. The running time is an hour and 54 minutes approximately and is certificated at 15 (there is some swearing, usually for emphasis but it is part of Eddies comic effect and not used – in my opinion – to offend or to excess). I'm currently listening to this as an audio book, but I DO own the DVD and have watched it many times too so let's get the DVD part over with first! Then we'll get to content... Visually Eddie Izzard is very pleasing with lots of facial expressions. He does this show in drag and is a self proclaimed transvestite. Walking in heels he struggles a little but it this is amusing as he only struggles when he faux runs! The show runs for 78minutes and every minute holds at least one laugh. It is presented to an American audience in San Francisco. The audience receives him well and mostly follow his British humour. Izzard covers many areas ... Read the complete review

jam, jam, squirrels (did i leave the gas on?) if you're after surreal yet intelligent humour then this is the only, i mean best place to get it! this man is quite simply a genius. Dress to kill is themed loosely on european and american history, dating from paganism to the space race. with stops off at the birth of C of E and the obligatory james mason impression. It is staged in San Fransico during Eddie's big break into America. The show goes down nothing short of a storm, and a good way to judge the success of a show is by the reactions of the audience. I'm here to rate the video, so i will. First though, i'll say that i've ... Read the complete review
