Advantages: Very, very funny

Disadvantages: a bit of bad language

In Glorious Izzard manages to blend comedy about the big things in life - creation, the bible, with some of the minutest details. The comedy is grand and surreal and minutely observational at the same time. This is Eddie Izzard at his peak.

He covers the bible - people with long beards, blending them in with Sean Connery, Speedboats, James Mason and baboons fighting each other.

He talks about showers and toasters and the inability to ever find the right settings (toast is either not cooked or burnt, showers are either freezing or scalding)

He talks about the Robin Hood legend, and the nottingham twang that always turns into an american accent.

He talks about street fights and martial arts and being a transvestite. Whilst watching Izzard I've always found it easy to forget that he is a transvestite.

The language is bad - my parents refuse to watch Izzard because of the frequent use of the F word, but if that doesn't trouble you then this is very, very funny
