This is a great Film 4 2008 British Horror flik written by James Watkins that has a great British cast.
The story is about a young couple Jenny (Kelly Reilly) and Steve (Michael Fassbender).
Jenny is a nursery teacher and Steve her boyfriend asks her to go away with him on a romantic break, the location is a magical desserted lake (Eden Lake) and Steves intention is to propose to Jenny over the weekend.
The couple soon discover the Lake is not as tranquil as they thought and find themselves the victims of a gang of yobbish youths who for no reason decide they will steal the couples belongings and car leaving them stranded in an isolated location.
What they soon discover is that the youths led by a brilliant Jack O Connell (Brett) are not just interested in stealing their belongings they seem to get a kick out of inflicting pain on people.
So begins a total gory and grusome movie as we see the couple try to evade the gang.
If you love horror movies with graphic scenes you will love this with brilliant acting and a great story line as well as some very harrowing scenes and not a happy ever after ending.
Its 88 minutes of edge of your seat nail biting tension.
