Advantages: Great Musical and Disney Film

Disadvantages: Our Predictions didn't come true!

I have now officially watched this film twice, why? I hear you ask, but it has an obvious reason which is that I enjoyed the film enough to buy the DVD, so the rest of my family could watch it. I firstly didn't want to see it, but I have a great friend called Aly, who didn't particular want to see it either. However, we always choose films that no one, who we know, would watch. So that's how I ended up in AMC Cinemas (the cheapest Cinema closest to me, only £4.00 a ticket now), watching this film, and I'm glad we always do that.

The film is about a prince and princess, it starts off in animation, which most people, including the rest of my family, thinks is totally not right. I usually eye roll at those comments because it's supposed to set the story, and anyway, the last time I checked, all Disney princess classics are in animation, such as: Cinderella, Beauty and the Beast, Sleeping Beauty. Need to go on.

The Queen doesn't want her thrown taken off her, so she tries her very best to prevent a marriage. And that also includes pushing Giselle down a well, she ends up in a real place and she seeks her way to find home, and tagging along are a lawyer and his daughter who found her in Manhattan.

The characters were played brilliantly by all the actors/actresses. And I suggest that there should be an Enchanted 2 as it has won tonnes of awards, and therefore shows that it's popular.

I thought this film to be brilliant. I can't really explain why, it could be due to the fact that it's a musical, and I seriously like musicals. I also am a fan of Disney, but more of the modern day films like Wall-E and nowadays films. However this film I shall watch over and over again as I get older, I very much doubt I'll dislike this film. It should probably get in the Guinness book of world records for the film with THE most references to Disney classics. It has them all. Check out this list here: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_Disney_refere nces_in_Enchanted

I think another thing that got me to enjoy this film was the way me and my friend, Aly, kept on predicting the story-line, we found it boring at certain times and decided to change the film around to what we think should happen. I have to say I really did like the bit where we changed it to make Pip the one true loves kiss, we could just imagine swinging from a rope, and kiss Giselle on the lips, and it would have been soooooooo hilarious. Only it didn't happen, so we weren't too happy. If you have watched this film you'd have understood.

Pip, was my favourite character, he was not only the funniest character, but we always missed him not featuring in any clip. We wanted him to be known. We wanted to jump into the animated bit at the end and get the book, we soooooooo would have wanted to know him, He was really hilarious, especially when he learned he could talk and so he tried making hilarious poses that was soooooooo obvious, only Prince Edward is so stupid, he couldn't figure them out.

I don't know what I disliked in particular, I presume it must have been the endless Disney classic references; I have to actually admit, most of them I haven't seen. What I mean is that I haven't watched "Beauty and The Beast", I haven't watched "Sleeping Beauty", and I haven't watched "The Little Mermaid". And who could blame me? I'm no longer a really young kid. And also I'm a guy, but I have watched or know the story line to most of the others that I seemed to have found the links before Aly did, and she usually is the best at noticing these things. So we ended up doing a competition to see who can spot the most references, and she won by 1, but we were nearly at the end of the film so it wasn't really a competition.

If you enjoy Disney films, I totally recommend this to you. Do you have to watch over a young one for a while? Well don't fret this film will keep them quiet for a whole 1 hour and 43 minutes (approximately). Or do you love musicals, or secretly love them (like I do) well this is the big film you must see!

This film I got from HMV, and it's got a slip-case, well that's what I call them, I presume it's for protection so that it takes longer for someone to take the disk out of the DVD case. My mom hates them putting the slip-case on, but I like the thought; it keeps it more protected and it's also a nice simple way of making it stand out.

This film is packed with special features. As you should already know I don't watch these special features so I wouldn't really know if they are any good, but I have to say they sound good, here's the list:
-Deleted Scenes
-Bloopers
-Fantasy Comes To Life - Discover Enchanted's cinematic wizardry in these behind-the-scenes Featurette
-Pip's Predicament: A Pop-Up Adventure - After Giselle lands in New York, Pip goes on a daring mission to rescue Prince Edward in Andalasia (the animated world)

Know that Pip has a special feature, I may return to watching them all, they all sound really good, and it's very rare that I intend to watch a special feature, but now, this must be time to start watching the good ones.

I hope you do actually buy this DVD, as I think it suites the majority of you who read my reviews, I hope that I get to rate some new reviews on this film by you guys, and thank you very much for reading and rating!
