Advantages: Entertaining, funny, a great film for little girls, great costumes and dresses, very sweet film
Disadvantages: Maybe a little too childish for some peoples tastes
I am a big kid at heart and occassionally love to lapse into feeling like a child at times by watching childrens films. I love fairytales like any girl and when i saw an advert for film Enchanted i decided i would watch it.
I didnt get to see it in the cinema when it was released so decided to watch it on the Sky movie channels. The film is a fantasy comedy musical fairytale film and hit our screens in 2007.
The story centres around character Giselle who lives blissfully with the forest animals. She wants to meet the one and believes that she has a true love whom she spends time singing about to the animals. Prince Edward hears her and goes to her.
They decide to marry but Edwards mother pushes her into a "magic portal" so that she herself can remain queen. She doesnt want anyone taking her step-son away from her and threatening the throne.
Giselle ends up in Times Square in New York. Will she be able to get back to her love Edward or will she stay in New York and lose him forever?
I think that this is a lovely really girly childish film perfect for little girls who dream of being a princess. It is very childish but i still enjoyed it and im in my 20s!
I have watched it a few times altogether and think its a charming and heartwarming childs film.
It has a great magical aspect to it which i thought was great and if your daughter hasnt seen it yet, i think it would be a brilliant christmas present.
The dresses and costumes in the film are amazing and i would urge people to watch it even for that alone.
You can buy the dvd of Enchanted from Sendit.com for just £4.89. The RRP of the film is £17.99 so i think this is a really good price. A must have film for all little girls who like to dream.
