Advantages: Acting, Dark storyline
Disadvantages: Ending, Extras
I know a lot of people have all ready expressed their dislike of this movie, but I actually thought that it was quite good. The story starts by explaining the prophecy that on a certain date, a female child will be born who when older, will give birth to the son of the devil(anti-christ). The story then unfolds that the Church know about the prophecy and spend their time trying to prevent it from happening, but the church is split over how they should handle the women. Arnie gets back to a more familiar role with is tough action man image he play's(Jericho Cane) a run down ex-cop, turned bodyguard who accidently protects satan(Gabriel Byrne), when he starts to investigate into the actions of the priest, he starts to unfold the story of the prophecy and in true Arnie style becomes the hero. All in all I think the storyline is gripping enough to keep you sat their watching, The only thing I was dissapointed with was the ending. The movie has a reasonable soundtrack with a fairly heavy side to it. DVD Extras(R2): The DVD disc comes with a spotlight on the location, 9 special effects clips, a soundtrack presentation and never been seen before music video's plus a rairly seen Rob Zombie video the extras are topped of with the standard theatrical trailer. I personally think that the extras on this DVD are a little dissapointing but if the region 1 version has different extras I would like to know of what I missed out on. DVD EXTRAS:
