I was looking through my video collection when I came across ‘Enter the Dragon’. This is a film that even if your not into action films you will like. It was made in 1973-4, a martial art/Kung Fu film and one that you will never get tired of watching again and again. It stars the brilliant Bruce Lee. Its an inspirational film and however many times you watch it you won’t get tired of watching it. As I put the film into the video recorder, the picture went fuzzy it’s 30 years plus old but still the legacy of Bruce Lee will live on.

Bruce Lee performs his brilliant martial arts movement, his athleticism, fitness is to be adored. To tell you the truth the plot in the film isn’t good, you wouldn’t remember it but you will remember the martial art moves Lee performs.

In the film, Lee helps to find drug barons. There’s also personal motives- the drug barons were responsible for the death of his sister. We see Bruce Lee begin on his journey. The film is presented in a flashbacks and the dialogue at times is long, I personally think the best thing is when there’s no dialogue and the action does the talking. The dubbing over the voices does spoil the film somewhat.

The best scene is at the end, with the ‘hall of the mirrors’ the most memorable scene in the film. When Lee has a one to one, there are mirrors everywhere and it adds to the scene. Here Lee demonstrates his martial strengths-it’s a scene that you will probably want to rewind and watch again. Lee doing his swan action with is hands.

I would say this film is suitable for 12+, whilst it contains violence. I think the Kung Fu brilliance displayed in the film have a really good positive effect. I can remember watching this film when I was about 10 and I marvelled at how good Bruce Lee was, my brother even joined a karate club on the basis of the film.

You can buy ‘Enter the Dragon’ f
rom most video shops, I often see them at car boot sale for about £2 which is an absolute bargain price. It is well worth investing in because you will watch it quite a lot over a long span of time.
I haven’t really watched a film that is just as good. ‘Romeo Must Die’ was good but there are few martial arts films that will be as strong and as good as this.

Good op.

It seems like you've had your copy for a long time.

If you're a big Bruce Lee fan, and you have a DVD player, each of his films have been released uncut on DVD and with a number of behind the scenes extras.

I'd reccomend all of them for the martial arts scenes alone as Lee is simply stunning.
