Deary me we've hit the bottom of the pile with this one haven't we? An action adventure film starring a painfully old Sean Connery and a painfully irrelevant Catherine Zeta Jones. Still, it's OK!
Entrapment stars Jones as Virginia Baker, an insurance woman who tracks down a master art thief (Connery) as she believes he is responsible for a stolen Rembrandt. She's supposed to be capturing him, but ends up inviting him in on a heist of her own making, for which the two must train and work together.
This film is best known for the dancing around the lasers that Jones does, showing off her curvacious bum as she does so. The curvy figure the woman undoubtedly possesses is not enough to warrant her co-starring in the film, but there is little else she brings to the role. I find her one of the most basic actresses out there.
Connery, on the other hand, does a good job but has sadly fallen back on cliches of himself to give a basic and only passable performance. We all know the silent and mysterious man he is, and that's what we get in this film.
Despite this, I liked the film a bit. It's pretty cool when there are films about thiefs, and we all enjoy seeing how they plan their robberies. Even so, the plot is pretty simple, with the predictable twists and turns along the way.
All in all, an average action and adventure film that could have done with a couple of more dynamic stars to make it really work.
Summary: do it
