Advantages: Constantly switiching plot, Actor combination works a treat

Entrapment, it was the first film I'd ever seen including Catherine Zeta-Jones, but I must say the impression I got was breathtaking. The plot of this film was brilliant - one could never guess what was around the corner, unless, of course, they had seen it before.

Sean Connery, sensational as ever, plays 'Mac', a specialist criminal/co-conspirator, amongst other things(!) who stars alongside Catherine Zeta-Jones, a fellow criminal. The hidden identity of each character throughout is a key to the secrecy of the film, and it's brought out very successfully indeed. The two work very well together, and the relationship grows as the film progresses.

The film is about two supposed crooks who conspire to achieve the impossible. From a £40M dollar valued mask to a bank vault in Koala Lumpur, they must plan their actions to the finest detail to achieve their tasks, and then avoid capture, naturally. The success will arise if their achieve one or the other, but how long can it last, while they attempt to fool various associates they are somebody else? The mounting tension is well worked into this, and to say more of the plot gives too much away.

What's so good about this film? - Well, the action sequences, and the daring stunts, the exact planning and death-defying feats. The secrecy, and the twists and turns which make this film unpredictable until the final few seconds. It's a film that never pauses, yet lets you work things out. And the acting - so like poles - it's the two opposites that attract, and combine brilliantly.

The only drawback to this is that it's difficult to watch over and over again with the same enthusiasm, although the wonderful action scenes do keep most of it. I really recommend this film if you're an action film fan.
