Advantages: The storyline

Disadvantages: None

When I first saw Entrapment on video, I wasn?t too sure what it was about. All I knew is that it involved intelligent thieves and Catharine Zeta-Jones. When I watched it, I was extremely impressed. With its acting, plot line and even its twists throughout the movie were of a high quality.

The actors chosen to play the roles of Mac and Gin are, again of a high calibre. For the character of 'Mac' McDougal, the Scottish Sean Connery took up the role of a worldwide thief, who is wanted by many people - in particular the company Gin Baker work for. His acting in this movie is, like always fantastic and he really gets involved in the role of character.

Catharine Zeta-Jones plays Gin, which in my view was the best actress to play the insurance firm employee. She performs her role extremely well and when needed to show emotion, she does it brilliantly.

Although Gin and Mac are the main two characters, Ving Rhames is the person who is put on the task to keep a close eye on Mac, to make sure that he does the job he is meant to be doing.

~Plot~

The storyline is an action-packed thriller, with very few occasions where the story takes a backward seat. The plot is a built-up to the Millennium celebrations in which both Gin and Mac work together to try and steal $8 billion dollars on Millennium Eve from South East Asia's largest money clearing house.

But before the duo try that daring act, they start with easier objectives. Firstly, they try to steal a solid gold mask valued at £40 million from a wealthy museum. This takes months of preparation, so the two of go away to Mac's castle on the coast. But this is where Mac finds out about Gin's devious plan, which is to try, and set him up with the company she works for.

As the pair becomes closer due to the amount of time the pair put towards their latest tasks, love creeps into the movie. Although it seems like a strange love interest, both do be
come attracted to each other - which brings a strange reality into the movie as both are secretly working against each other.

As the couple become closer, Mac manages to persuade Gin to travel with him to Malaysia to do their bank heist on Millennium eve, in which they steal large amounts of money onto a CD - as all the money is stored on the banks computer system. But I am not going to tell you any more because then it would spoil to movie, but all I will say is that
their are a few more twists hiding in the waiting.

~DVD~

The features on it aren't that great. There aren't any deleted scenes or interviews with the cast of directors. But there is a documentary on the making of Entrapment. You can also watch the movie in 12 different languages.

~Overall~

Entrapment is one of those films that keep you guessing all the way throughout the movie. Even from the start you are not 100% sure what Gin's motives are, and that thought is carried on right until the final scene.

Their are a couple of action scenes in the movie which keep you excited and on the edge of your seat, especially during their final heist in Malaysia, but around half of the film is the both of them preparing for the heist's they have got planned.

This would defiantly be recommended for those who like those action and excitement type movies with a hint of love thrown into the movie. The plot is extremely good, and the acting quality, as I have said before is of a very high standard.

I quite enjoyed the film, but I don't think it is one I would buy - especially if they are being so stingy with the extras.
