Where as Bruce Almighty was a fun grown up Jim Carrey vehicle with a zany plot and some cute in-jokes, the sequel is not the same animal (play on words there) and should be judged on that fact and so not the original. This is a family film full-stop and could explain why it didn't get all the plaudits...its not as good as the first film, ...

Don't think that just because this has the word Almighty in the title and Morgan Freeman returns in the role of God that this is in anyway a sequel to Bruce Almighty. In that film Jim Carrey was standing in for God. At least in this we're spared the annoyance of Carrey but the guy playing Evan (AKA Noah) is totally unknown to me. The ...

Evan Almighty is the sequel to Bruce Almighty although in my opinion it is no where near as good. The film stars Evan Baxter, played by Steve Carell, who becomes a junior congressman. He and his family move house so he can start his new job but all does not go to plan and he ends up praying to god to help him live up to his campaign ...

One of my favourite films is, without a doubt, Bruce Almighty. When I heard about the release of Evan Almighty, I couldn't wait to go and see it. Unfortunately, I never did get that opportunity to enjoy the magic of the film at the cinema. Though, since then, I have fortunately seen the film. Was it as good as Bruce Almighty ...

Having run for State Congressman and been elected to the post for Buffalo, Evan Baxter (Steve Carell) has come a long way from his days as a news anchor man. Now having moved his family to Washington in order to fulfil his promise to change the World, Baxter is in for a few surprises. While he gets settled in Washington he slots in under the wing ...

As a follow up to 'Bruce Almighty', Evan, a local TV news presenter, has just been elected to congress. Moving to a new house in Virginia into which moves his wife and kids, he declared in one of his congressional campaigns that he would change the world. Then one night he prays too god, asking for him to help in his mission, after encouragement ...

Evan Baxter is a news-reader who has just been elected to congress. He has a new house in Virginia to go with the job and the kids are actually starting to smile again after moving away from their friends. Life is looking rosy but Evan is feeling a little under pressure to pull off the balance he needs for his family and the new job. Praying to ...

As a follow up to Jim Carreys hilarious performance in 'Bruce Almighty' Steve Carell (40 Year Old Virgin) had a lot to live up to. With his performance in Bruce Almighty as 'the bad guy' it seemed a fitting role as a man who needed to change his ways. With humour for the whole family and another fantastic performance from Morgan Freeman (God), the ...

Another poor follow up to an original great. Evan baxter (steve Carell) was first seen on "Bruce Almighty" (a film in my eyes which constitutes comical genius) and is the only positive which can be taken away from this film. Steve Carell is a proven leading man in the world of comedy and what he does will make a person laugh. ...

Sunday morning, having looked outside to see the miserable grey sky and the never-ending rain my other half and I agreed to take our three year old to see a film. We thought the new animated film Surf’s Up might appeal but no. When faced with 101 options, my son chose Evan Almighty. His father and I weren’t convinced and tried to sway him but he ...
