Advantages: Some fabulously over the top characters adding a touch of fun to a murder mystery.

Disadvantages: This may not be true to the book, but it is a good film.

A wonderful adaptation of another classic Agatha Christie novel filmed in 1982 and another all star cast - Maggie Smith, Diana Rigg, Roddy McDowall, James Mason, Denis Quilley, Jane Birkin and Peter Ustinov as Poirot to name a few.

I have to say that I do enjoy Peter Ustinov's portrayal of Poirot and he brings a lot of humour to the role and I find this is quite a fun film (discounting the actual fact it is about murder). There are some superb performances especially from Maggie Smith and Diana Rigg.

The setting this time - a small island in the sun and a group of holiday makers and the obligatory murder. Poirot is however on hand to work those little grey cells and come up with a satisfactory conclusion.

The location of this film is lovely and many of the scenes were filmed in Majorca so just the thing to get you in the mood for that summer holiday.

Summary: Well cast classic Christie story.
