Madonna is known as a singer not an actor. Every film she made flopped before Evita made in 1996 starring her and directed by Alan Parker.

It is a musical film based on recent history of Argentina. She plays Evita who was known in life as Eva Peron wife of the president. She was a strong figure, she was at forefront of moulding her husbands policy. In the film characters sing instead of talking and Madonna is very good at this.

The film is like an epic tale of one woman who lived life to the full. She has a sad ending dying of cancer at peak of life. In real life Peron lived from 1919-1952. Only 33 years.

Evita is a very good musical because of good music and right cast for the main roles.
