Well if its about aliens then it has to have Fox Mulder in it. Sorry David Ducovny and his bum. Don’t get me wrong. I think that I found the film funny than most people. Hubby took me to the cinema as a birthday treat. Yes my birthday was the week before last. But we looked the wrong paper with a wrong time. And hubby felt so guilty that we he decided to try again last week. He sprung for the tickets and popcorn and coke. Sounds like a lot of money. Not really as our local Cineworld do a £3 each for Thursday night. Much better than £5.10 that they charge. Any way the tickets and the sundries came to about £11.20. Not a bad total. I have seen people just spend that sort of money on the snack alone. Plus they had to pay for their tickets. Back to the film. I had a work colleague say that it was good. So I thought let’s give it a whirl. As I tend not to pay to go to the cinema as I get lots of freebie tickets. Well the film is about an alien life form that is evolving funnily enough. David Ducovny is Dr Ira Kane a high school biology teacher who along with geology teacher Harry Block (played by Orlando Jones) get called out to a site of a meteorite after it is witnessed by Wayne Gray, ( Seann William Scott –dude where’s my car) who is practising for his fireman exams one night. After taking some samples once the dim witted police let them down in to the crater. Dr Kane discovers something very interesting. They go back to the site and find that the army has taken over. At this point you start to learn a little bit more about Dr Kane’s background and the love interest is introduced in the form of clumsy Dr. Allison Reed played by Julianne Moore. Once he has his little rant at General Woodman both Kane and Block drive away. At this point Kane (Ducovny) moons at the general through the jeep window. I don’t think that I will go in any more detail, as I will rui
n the plot. Oh and by they way Kane and Reed get it together at the end of the film. The graphics of all the life forms are great. The only one that was a bit naff was one of the aliens forms grabbed a girl in the mall. The alien looked great but the human did not look that good. You will love the end so don’t forget to wait for the credits as it is so funny but it just a bit over the top for product placement. If you watch the film then you will get it. And some of those evolving life forms are cute but ugly at the same time. Watch you will see what I mean.
