... be about but then for about half of the film you just get random scenes that are not needed in the movie at all. The story is funny though and this is what keeps your attention. Seagal films are sometimes quite serious and purely about the action but this one has some of the cheesiest lines and a mad character in the form of T.K who steals the film. This is why I don’t mind this film as it is entertaining and although I don’t think the action sequences are good, I do think they are fun to watch and take the mick ...more

Crowned Review Exit Wounds (DVD): [Film] See How Happy I Make Others? (840 words)

In 2001 the movie making life of Steven Seagal seemed to change from him being the sole star to sharing the lime light with some rapper or another. The first film to cast Seagal with DMX was Exit Wounds released around the middle of 2001. While it was still a straight to video release it was a major change to his usual films. It really caught my eye but with straight to video releases I generally forget they are there until I see them on the shelf in Tesco’s. So I decided recently it was time to catch up with a load of his films I’ve missed, starting with this one. Seagal stars a Orin Boyd, a Police Officer who seems to be the bain of his Captains life. ...  Read the complete review

Exit Wounds http://www.exitwounds.net In the latest release from the Warner Brothers studio comes the return to the big time for many peoples most un-favoured action hero wannabee Steven Segal. Largely criticised for his inability to act and the continual adoption of one like role throughout all his films, his critics consistently rip apart any work he does. However, those of us that quite like his films would argue that sticking to what you know best is no bad thing. When the producer of The Matrix makes an action film, people expect great things and are more than ready to jump on the Anti-Joel Silver bandwagon. This is exactly what many ...  Read the complete review

Premium Review Exit Wounds (DVD): Seagal does it AGAIN (578 words)

I went to see ‘Exit wounds’ knowing that the critics had given this movie a bad review but, as I’m a bit of a sucker for Steven Seagal movies, I went with a more open mind. I wanted action, guns and a couple of great fist fights, so I wasn’t really that disappointed and truly think that the critic’s opinion has been a little too harsh. Orin Boyd, played by Steven Seagal (Under Siege 1992), is a cop with a bad attitude and an authority problem so gets sent to the15th precinct in Detroit where policing is a little more heavy handed. Through the whole movie he investigates what appears to be police corruption with partner George ...  Read the complete review

Since me and my fiancé moved into our first house we have been trying to have people over whenever we can and one of the new traditions that I totally approve of is movie night. Basically everybody comes around to our house and we all choose a film and stick it on. Last night we girls actually let the lads choose which was a big mistake as they are all fans of Steven Seagal and my fiancé happens to have a lot of his films. The film they chose was Exit Wounds and to be honest it was actually quite a lot better than I thought it would be. ----- The Film: The film starts with what seems like a plot to assassinate the Vice President and of ...  Read the complete review

As no brainers go, this film doesn't need anyone reaching for the formaldehyde... Die Hard is a wonderful movie. Why do people get the idea that that means it should be xeroxed ad infinitum, and then even the SPINOFFS paralleled and copied into oblivion? Under Siege (Seagals first really big success was merely Die Hard on a boat.) Here's the plot... Orin Boyd (Seagal) is a Detroit cop who doesn't follow rules. After he saved the Vice President by by violating every order he received he is transferred to one of the worst precincts in the city. There he quickly encounters some corrupt cops selling heroin to drug dealers. The problem ...  Read the complete review
