... travel, a kind of spherical rocket that defies the laws of gravity. Three young kids which such technology sets us up for a nice little film. The use the sphere to explore of course, its a fun buddy film and the adventure they get into makes this a good film that adults can enjoy too. I think the adventures could be better, perhaps with todays effects they would have done more as the basic idea of the story is very good. Perhaps this would make a good modern day remake. Ethan Hawke and River Phoenix are two stars most people recognize, especially the former. In this film they play kids that have an interest in science. Well it is River that is the scientist, he and his 2 friends stumble upon a new invention. They create a new form of travel, a kind of spherical rocket that defies the laws of gravity. Explorers has a fairly simple plot. Three boys Darren, Ben and Wolfgang who dream of aliens and build a rocket. The three boys who are quite different team up well and it's nice the way they get on together despite their differences. They then fly off and discover...... Perhaps you can guess. It's actually not a bad film at all. You get to see a young Ethan Hawke and River Phoenix who sadly isn't here today. Ethan Hawke is just about recognisable! They're around 12 years old in this.
