Advantages: Great acting, great storyline.

Disadvantages: Overkill fight scene

This film is fantastic in every way. Both of the lead actors shine in a way I've never seen them shine in any other role, especially Nicholas Cage. They acted amazingly and both took on each other's mannerisms to the t, and made this film a fantastic piece of cinematography.

The Plot

Castor Troy is a terrorist who is being pursued by the FBI, especially one of their agents Sean Archer whose son was killed by Troy. Castor Troy is knocked into a coma and caught by the FBI, not before bragging to Archer that a bomb they have made will destroy LA.

Then one of Archer's colleagues tells him about a surgical procedure which will allow him to switch faces with Castor to go under cover in prison along with Castor's brother and find out about the bomb. However after the procedure has been completed, Castor wakes up from his coma, with Archer's face where his face used to be, he escapes, killing the only man who knew how to reverse the procedure.

The Cast

Sean Archer: played by John Travolta

Nicholas Cage is good in this film, you can't deny that but John Travolta is absolutely fantastic. About 20 minute into the film he becomes Castor Troy, so he goes from being good to bad guy and he does it fantastically. He picked up Nicholas Cage's mannerisms and personality and really performs to the best of his ability.

Castor Troy: played by Nicholas Cage

Never really liked NC as an actor, in my opinion I have always found him bland. However when I watched this film, my opinion changed. He was fantastic as both the bad guy and the goody. It's a shame I haven't really seen it in any other film.

Trivia

The two people that were supposed to play Troy & Archer were Arnold Schwarzenegger and Sylvester Stallone or Michael Douglas and Harrison Ford. Douglas eventually became an executive producer.

My Opinion

As you can probably guess I love this film. I think this is a completely A list film, it's one of the best I myself have ever seen. I know some people criticise it because the violence in it, is a bit overkill and I do have to agree, the fight scene near the end is usually time for me to go and get a drink however if you just ignore that, you will see a fantastic film, with tremendous acting and a really good storyline.

Hope you enjoyed this review.
