Premium Review Family Guy - Season 3 (DVD): I'd Love to Stay and Chat, But You're a Total B*tch (2990 words)

Peter: Did the Count ever kill anyone? Brian: What? Peter: I mean, have they ever shown him doing somebody in and then feeding on him? Brian: …You're asking if they've ever done a Sesame Street in which the Count kills somebody, and then sucks their blood for sustenance. Peter: Yeah. Brian: No, they've never done that. The third season of hit adult animated comedy ‘Family Guy’ managed to be even darker, stranger and more controversial than ever before, but was all the more entertaining for it. When creating the first several episodes of the third year the production team had been informed that they could receive a ...  Read the complete review

Family Guy - Season 3 is the third series of the Emmy award-winning show, Family Guy. It was created by Seth McFarlane and was first broadcast in 2001. During this season and the previous one, Fox frequently moved the show to different days and times with hardly notice, and the ratings suffered a lot for this. In fact, Fox had already canceled Family Guy at the end of the second season, and it was only because of huge amounts of people creating websites, starting petitions and writing letters that Fox brought it back. The joy was to be short lived though, as during this season it was announced it would be canceled for good. Luckily this was not the case, but ...  Read the complete review

Premium Review Family Guy - Season 3 (DVD): The Third Season (244 words)

Rating:

Family Guy Season 3 was actually the first one I bought on DVD and it's just as good as the first two, without slipping like most shows seem to. MacFarlane has been played around a little by Fox, not knowing what was happening with the future of Family Guy. We know now that it ended well for the viewers but at the time he may have thought it was going to be cancelled and so Season 3 is slightly more offensive than the previous two! It's impossible to actually take any offense, like with South Park (although the latter did push it on many occasions) because they insult everyone and anyone and do so in a light-hearted and laughable manner. Us Brits take a small ...  Read the complete review

Premium Review The best Family Guy has to offer (343 words)
by - written on 22/10/09 (Very useful, 13 readings)
Rating:

Family Guy returned for a third season in 2003 and this season features more episodes than any other season with 21 total episodes. Seth MacFarlane produces his best with this season and I feel because of the extra episodes it is a slightly better season overall than the rest. Every episode in the season is of brilliant quality so picking out just a few to explain is difficult and I recommend buying this season so you can view all the episodes. The season gets off to a fantastic start with the first episode The Thin White Line where Brian becomes a police sniffer dog but picks up a cocaine habit as a result. Episode 2, Mr Griffin Goes ...  Read the complete review

Premium Review Family Guy - Season 3 (DVD): Near the knuckle entertainment (278 words)

I think I actually prefer Family Guy to the Simpsons. I've watched every series they've done so far and have a few on DVD. Although the opening song asks "where are those good old-fashioned values?" don't expect many! I particularly like the near the knuckle quality to the writing of Family Guy, they are not P.C and don't give a damn which really appeals to me. The Griffin family itself consists of Peter, (loud, childish, irresponsible and overweight) his wife Lois (sexy redhead who struggles to stop Peter's antics) their son Chris (overweight, unattractive, dim) daughter Meg (oddball who no-one likes much) baby stewie (nappy wearing evil genius ...  Read the complete review
