Looks like this one splits the fans! I have to say, being a massive fan of family guy, and having all the previous seasons, this one is by far the weakest so far (I've not seen season 8 as yet). From what I can see, the Screen Writer's Guild strikes have been at it again, having serious connotations on all our best loved shows. I can understand why studios didn't want to just stop sending out these shows, as they would have nothing to fill their schedules, but when it comes to a show like Family Guy, which relies so heavily on it's writing, they really should know better. Basically, the regular writers (including Seth MacFarlane) went on strike and ... Read the complete review

Family Guy Season 7 was a bit of a turnaround from the lacklustre episodes of the last couple of seasons. This is definately not the best season out there. Season 3 and 4 are much more entertaining and provide plenty more laughs. The first disc contains just 5 episodes and my two favourite from this disc are No Meals on Wheels and Boys Do Cry. No Meals on Wheels is the first episode on the disc and in this episode Peter bys a full body set of pyjamas but after constantly shocking his family with the static electricity he builds up when sliding along the floor Lois takes up the carpets to find a coin with $50,000. With the money the family opens ... Read the complete review

Family guy (created by SethMcfarlane) has been one of my favourite adult cartoons since its debut on 20th December 1998. I was still a nipper at school then and remember rushing home to watch the first episode. From then on ive found it to be a consistantly funny show with a slew of jokes based around "remember when i did this" or "like when that happened". For me it certainly earns its place among the "big 3" along with the simpsons and futurama. However i have found since series 5, family guy has been going down hill. Its like Seth Mcfarlane can no longer be bothered, with some of the more recent episodes failing to tickle ... I used to be a massive fan of Family Guy, and own most of the box sets for the earlier series, but since I'd felt that the quality had gone down a bit in series 5 and 6, I wasn't too enthusiastic about watching the seventh season. That was, however, until I had a night with very little to do, and so decided to borrow this DVD set from my friend, in the hope that it was better than I was expecting it to be. Fortunately, I feel that this latest series was a return to form on behalf of the Family Guy writers, and so am happy to give Family Guy: Series 6 a the following positive review. Family Guy is a cartoon series made by Seth MacFarlane, who also made ... Read the complete review

Am I one of the few people who has actually gone off Family Guy now? I loved the first three seasons, which were a refreshingly cutting approach to the genre, with no subject or taboo being off limits, but after its cancellation and resurrection, things just weren't the same. Admittedly, Seasons 4 and 5 were still pretty good with only the odd dud episode, but Six was a bust, and this, the Seventh season, is evidence of a TV show absolutely running on empty. The problem is that the show is so insistent to rely on formula now, and McFarlane thinks that by drawing attention occasionally to how formulaic the show is with postmodern asides mentioning the ...
