In 1987, director Adrian Lyne brought us Fatal Attraction, a thriller hiding a scary love story, gaining critical acclaim and also sparking uproar amongst a large part of the public for its portrayal of its characters. The Plot Dan Gallagher is an average married family man, who strays one day and has an affair with Alex Forest. Instantly regretting his ways, he finds Alex returning for more and caves in. They enjoy a lustful few encounters, but it is when Dan calls an end to the affair that Alex turns obsessive and sets out to ruin Dan and his family. If she can't have the man she wants, no one can! Fourteen long years after it scared the pants back on unfaithful husbands, Fatal Attraction remains an immensely enjoyable and powerful thriller. It was a box office smash at the time of it's release and made household names out of it's two leads. Dan Gallagher (superbly played by Michael Douglas) is the happy family man who is a successful lawyer. A chance encounter with Alex Forrest (Glenn Close) at a party, strokes his inner passions and when the opportunity arises to follow through on them he does little to resist. A one-night fling quickly turns into a weekend lovefest. Fatal Attraction's celebrated sex scenes might seem a little tame ... Read the complete review

Released in 1987, Fatal Attraction was a box office smash, no doubt because of it being the first(?) major movie release to deal with the subject of extra-marital affairs taking a dramatic turn for the worse. A warning to the unfaithful, Fatal Attraction was a warning to all husbands to keep it in the trousers when away from home yet in my opinion fails to be particularly entertaining. Firstly I'll outline the plot. Michael Douglas is Dan Gallagher, a Manhattan lawyer with the requisite super-attractive wife(Anne Archer) and simpering little Hollywood brat...I mean a gorgeous little darling child. They are the perfect family unit, until Douglas runs ... Read the complete review

Fatal Attraction is my most detested film ever! I won’t bother to reprise the entire plot as I’m sure you all know it already, I’ll just vent my spleen. Leading character; rich successful socialite has money, an influential career, a fantastic loft apartment, a designer wardrobe, but, shock, horror …………. NO MAN! In her desperate search to find a partner she is reduced to kidnapping children, rabbit killing and mutilation and attempted murder. I can’t even think about this film objectively, let alone ever watch it again. It may be well shot, well directed, the tension may be developed well but it ... Read the complete review

The movie was good mainly because of th acting and the action packed last half hour. However, the initial 30 minutes are very boring and there is nothing of interest. Things pick up though and Glenn Cl.ose comes off as truly deranged--the cutting of legs. However, I can 8understand her anger and she really is quite explosive during the final sequence. Michael douglas was his usual boring self and I didn't like the way he was so unffeling to Close and the baby. Anne Archer was excelllent and we could feel her concern and fear throughout the last half hour. Good film, but not great. ... Read the complete review
