This film came out while I was living in the US to a storm of publicity. Following along from Whitley Strieber's "Communion" and his alleged alien abduction "story" or "adventure" (he retracted the whole event eventually and "didn't know what really happened") and many other films during the "Anal Probe" period of the 1980's/early 1990's, this movie is based on the true story of an group of men and a claimed alien abduction in a rural logging area, populated by apparently quite a few Mormons (mentioned, I think, to prove their veracity). Quite an old film and not well known, but a definite classic. The story line is that Robert Patrick (Terminator 2 - T1000) is a lumber jack working in the forest with four others. One night they notice a light which they think is a forest fire. As they approach, they realise that it isn't a fire, but can't explain what it is. One of the colleagues (Craig Sheffer) jumps out of the truck and heads towards it, only to be struck by a beam of light. The rest of the colleagues begin to panic and leave the scene.
