... see this short film, I would definitely recommend it - I do not know how it compares to the book or to the other animated version released in the same year, but this would definitely be a good place to start.

Based on Edwin A. Abbott's 1884 novel "Flatland: A Romance of Many Dimensions", "Flatland: The Movie" is one of two animated adaptations to be released in the same year. Flatland is a totally two-dimensional world populated by living triangles, squares, pentagons and circles, who are able to move and see northwards, southwards, eastwards and westwards but are unable to perceive upward or downward.
