And there, the adventure started. As this is an old movie, I think the special effect wasn't as good as expected, and the musical score was a bit weird in my ears. But in spite of that, I really like this movie. Why? The storyline was indeed original. How could someone come out with the idea of playing with the death was somethi...more

== FLATLINERS == Released in 1990 under the Psychological/Drama/Horror genre. Directed by Joel Schumacher (Phonebooth, The number 23), and starring Kevin Bacon, Keifer Sutherland, and Julia Roberts. Flatliners is a totally unique film, and one with a horrifying premise. Gripping and shocking Flatliners explores dark areas that should be left well alone. - I have been trying to think of films to review recently that have a left a lasting impression on me, and this one sprang to mind straight away. There are so many poor films out there, that you sit through these days, and you think why did I bother? I find there is very little on at the Cinema ...  Read the complete review

Even though I love thrillers and horrors not many of them really, truly scare me, and I want to get scared! There are however certain scenes in certain movies that terrify me, such as the cannibal in Ravenous furiously digging in the ground or when the kid in the Shining starts saying redrum, reeeedruuum. In Flatliners all the scenes with Billy in them terrify me and that’s why I love this movie! The all star cast of Julia Roberts, Kevin Bacon, Kiefer Sutherland, William Baldwin and Oliver Platt play medical students who are getting bored with their routine and start experimenting with life and death themselves. The driving force behind these experiments ...  Read the complete review

This isn't actually a review of the DVD but I couldn't find this film elsewhere in the categories. So here goes... I watched "Flatliners" on TV again a few weeks ago for about the sixth time - bored of it? No way! Originally released in 1990 it still seems pretty fresh to me - maybe the cast gives its age away but they are all still know and working! It revolves around a group of medical students - played by Kiefer Sutherland, Julia Roberts, Kevin Bacon, Wiliam Baldwin and Oliver Platt - who find their thrills in becoming dead - "Flatlining" being the medical term for it - for increasingly extended periods of time. ...  Read the complete review

Kiefer Sutherland, Julia Roberts and Kevin Bacon in one horror - thriller movie? I couldn't imagine better from this old movie. Bought it in accident but eventually love this movie so much. Five medical students, trying to find out what it is like to be dead. After some research about the afterlife, they tried to go there themselves to know what the life after the death looks like by trying to stop the heart beat and come to life again. Instead of getting the answer of their questions, they started to experience the weird yet scary events. And there, the adventure started. This film was made in early 1990, and has a young Julia Roberts. It is based in America, about 4 friends who are training to be doctors, still in College. They are presently doing work in hospitals, and are learning about the resusitation equipment (the two pads on the chest when somebody has a heart attack). One of them dares to be sedated somuch he needs to be resusitated, and is thrown simutaneously into a nightmare of his life (he is running in a dark wood and is being chased by some school boys, and then feels he is falling)..what he does't realise until later that night at his home that one of the boys (who is dead) comes and visits him and violently throws ...  Read the complete review
