This is an all time favourite when I was a child. I had it originally on VHS before buying it on DVD (and never getting round to watching it). I hadn't watched it for many years until recently and it still was as good as I remembered.

It is a children's movie clocking in at twenty three years old having been released in 1986. I'd best describe it as an adventure movie with a twist as it has sci-fi in it too. The main character is David/Davey (Joey Cramer) who meets and makes a fascinating new friend called Max (Paul Reubens). This isn't an ordinary friendship because it was made in an extraordinary way.

Expect the unexpected in this movie. One of the things I liked the most was David's relationship with his brother Jeff. It shows what everyone goes through but in the films running time of only ninety minutes.

There are also a lot of good looking special effects which the director made work well. The plot I thought was pretty original though you may think you have seen it all before, it incorporates many different underlying ideas which I enjoyed. The humour is spot on and goes throughout the film. I think I'd put it up there with other classics from the 80's that ought to be in anyone's DVD collection. One for the family and friends, anyone can enjoy it. Best watched if you just want to unwind and relax.

Even though I haven't spoken about the plot trust me and treat your child! They'll love it.
