Advantages: Wonderful entertainment, great visuals, and the hilarious singing eye!

Disadvantages: None

I've been watching this movie since I was a kid. It seems that at least every 1 or 2 years, BBC ONE always decide to put Flight Of The Navigator on again. I assume they think we've suffered the same memory loss as the main character in the film!

Flight of the Navigator tells the tale of 12 year old boy David Freeman. One evening when he goes out looking for his younger brother, David falls down a deep ditch and injures himself. He later wakes up for his unconciousness, assuming it is just a few hours later, and returns home. But to his shock, there are strange people living in his house niow. And in fact, David's family have moved away. As time progresses we learn the startling truth that David has been officially missing for 8 years, and presumed dead.

Obviosuly, David dosen't understand what's going on, and the authorities are prerry concerned too. Espically as to why he hasn't changed since the day he disapeared (while his younger brother is not 20 years old), and why he has no recoletion at all. Meanwhile, a strange space craft has been discovered nearby, and scientists are finding links between it and the disaprearence of young david.

I positively loved this movie when I was a kid, the way you pleaded with the character because no one believed him. When he later steps into the space craft, and his relationship with the "being" (who David names Max) in the ship - who he aptly names David "the navigator". The special effects are fantstic... well for 1986 anyway. And the craft itself looks great, the way it morphs into different shapes.

Definetely one for all the family to enjoy - I've just watched it again today (Sunday) on BBC ONE and it's still as great as always. Oh, and one more thing... Sarah Jessica Parker (Sex in the City) also stars in the movie. Now if that's not an incentive to watch, I don't know what is!
