This an absolutlely classic children's movie brought to us once again by the Disney studios. The first time I saw this was in my final year of junior school when my teacher was off sick and the only person to cover was the headmaster. Basically he didn't feel like teaching us, probably because he had headmastering to do, so he nipped down to the video shop, sat us in the hall and left us watching a this video. Well, it certainly worked because we were all captivated for the entire running time - now that shows a decent movie...

Filmed in 1986 in Fort Lauderdale, The Flight Of The Navigator, the movie tells the story of a boy called David who goes to meet his brother in the woods and has an accident. He falls into a ditch and bangs his head and when he comes round again he finds that 8 years have passed and yet he has remained at the same age. Even more mysteriously, an alien spacecraft has crash landed nearby at the same tiem taht he made his reappearance. Naturally NASA become involved and the story unfolds from there...

To say more would be to give the game away, but basically this is a highly entertaining movie. There are elements of comedy, drama, sci-fi and horror(although toned down of course for its audience) in fact tons of different elements which all come together expertly to make this an excellent family movie suitable for all ages. It is good, pure, wholesome fun, the sort of movie you can sit your children down in front of and not be worried about what they are going to see or hear. I would recommend it to all, young and old, but especially to children and their parents.
