Flight to Mars. =========== This film was in a similar vein to 'the first men in the moon' by H.G Wells, but not written anywhere nearly as well. A spaceship, with all of Earth latest technology, is launched to Mars with the hope of one day colonising the dead planet. However once there the crew meet live Martians who are very unfriendly and want to steal and use Earths technology in order to launch their own attack on us. They plan to invade and take the Earth over as their world is completely spent of all its resources. Flight to Mars. =========== Evil Martians plotting to invade the Earth. A space ship is launched for the first landing on Mars. But when they get there Mars is full of Martians and they are not the friendliest bunch. The Martians are running low on all of their resources and plan to invade and occupy the Earth. The scientist and big mouth reporter who accompanied them are Earths only hope of stopping the invasion. The Martians turn out to look exactly like humans! FLIGHT TO MARS was made in the wake of DESTINATION MOON and ROCKETSHIP X-M, both of which were released in the previous year. This was a low-budget rip-off, featuring a group of scientists, a newspaperman, and a token girl (the ‘assistant’ to the leading scientist) who crash-land on Mars. On Mars they discover a group of Martians – who look just like human beings. Their leader, Ikron (played by Morris Ankrum, who turned up in I don’t know how many science fiction films of the 1950s, including RED PLANET MARS and HOW TO MAKE A MONSTER) can speak English – he’s learned how by monitoring our radio and TV broadcasts.
