Advantages: Impressive british special effects

Disadvantages: Has it's naff moments

I watched this on tv a while back and I was well impressed. I thought despite the fact that I'd seen it all before, it was thoroughly entertaining. The acting was great, the special effects were brilliant (cgi and non-cgi) and on the whole I enjoyed it alot. I don't usually like the sort of thing Robert Carlyle does, but he was great in this. I mean, of course the american movies like 'The Day After Tomorrow' etc. are far superior in almost every way. But for a british attempt, I thought this was exceptional. I expected the usual utter crap british television and filmmakers make and instead was refreshed to find an exciting and well acted british movie - finally something to be proud of. Obviously it's far from perfect, it is still british after all. But it's a shame things like this are completely unappreciated and complete crap television shows like the new Doctor Who are celebrated to no end. No wonder our television channels are full of @!%&.

Summary: Highly enjoyable
