Well think this is one of my all time favorite films. Forrest gump came out back in 1994 and was an instant classic. It won six Oscars as well as countless other awards. It was a smash at the box office and was one of the most talked about films of the year. Tom Hanks is the genious who plays the main character, Forrest Gump. The story starts with Forrest sat on a bench waiting for a bus. As passers by come and sit next to him he starts to tell the story of his life. So the story basically follows the spetacular story of Forrest's life. Even though he is a simple man from a humble background, he achieves wonderful things, gets into some crazy places and ... For one reason or another, I've been feeling a bit down in the dumps for the past few days, and have been in dire need of something to cheer me up. Seeing a couple of my friends helped a bit, but this morning I felt a bit lonely again, so looked through my DVD collection for something to cheer me up. Forrest Gump, one of my favourite films ever, jumped out at me, and I knew that it would be just the thing to put me in a better mood. Forrest Gump is a film starring Tom Hanks, who plays the title character, Forrest Gump, a man from Alabama with an IQ fairly lower than average. Despite his low intelligence, Forrest manages to achieve some astounding things in his ... Read the complete review

Forrest Gump is the multi-Oscar winning film made in 1994, starring Tom Hanks. It is one of my all-time favourite films, and having watched it again yesterday, I decided to write a review on it... Forrest Gump is a kind-hearted, friendly but simple man from Alabama. It is narrated by Forrest himself; sat on a bench waiting for the bus, reminscing about his life to complete strangers. As a child, he was mercilessly bullied because of his leg braces and his slowness, but something good comes out of the bullying - he discovers a talent for running which will serve him well when he is older. ... Forrest Gump became an instant hit at the box office when first released in 1994, and going on to win countless awards. It's about a young boy called Forrest Gump, who has a slight learning problem compared to other kids. This film takes you on a journey through the life of this remarkable person, from his youth wheen he was taunted by other for being stupid and wearing leg braces. To this, Forrest breaks free from this disability and joins the local american football team, becoming their star runner. Forrest then goes on to fight in Vietnam and become a hero, then meeting the president of the United States and showing him the war-wound on his arse! ... Read the complete review

Forrest Gump is a feelgood movie about a slightly retarded man's stumble through life. He manages to do everything right, survive in the face of adversity, and come up with implausibly good ideas. Much of the time he isn't planning or thinking or doing anything for any reason, he just IS, and that is the real appeal of the movie. It is sweet and touching, but it is one of thise movies that perhaps should only be viewed once. More than that and the viewer begins to pick at the delicate fabric of fantasy that is so important to the enjoyment of this film. Kudos to Hanks for playing a mentally challenged character as good as the legendary Rainman. ... Read the complete review
