Christopher Lambert is the KING of the B-Movie Sci-Fi/Fantasy genre, there is surely no doubt about that. Starring in Highlander, Beowulf and countless others, there surely is no one else who could possible pretend to this crown. However, whereas most of the movies he stars in are quite simply shallow, pointless tripe(OK, I'll spare Highlander from that comment so i don't get hacked to peices by its hoardes of fans), this one is actually surpisingly good. Fortess is set in an America of the future. This America forbids a woman to give birth to more than one child because of the catastrophic effects this could have on the population. Hence, women have ... Read the complete review

I actually remember seeing Fortress when it came out in the cinema, and despite the video release for it being an 18 certificate, it was a 12 in the cinema and I was about 13/14. It's valid to be an 18, but that's beside the point of this review. The Christopher (Highlander) Lambert starring Fortress is a film set in the near future where prisons are owned by the Men-Tel corporation and are top-security, pretty music inescapable, hi-tech isolation units - it's worse than death, and it's also against the law to have children (I think, or something like that) for some reason. I can't remember why, but Lambert's character and his wife are ... Read the complete review

Fortress is set in the not too distant future where an authoritarian government has taken over the USA. In the future parents can have only one child. When Christopher Lambert's wife finds out that she is with child for the second time they attempt to cross the border. When this fails they are sent to the 'Fortress'. A high-tech prison where criminals are punished through chips injected into their bodies. Fortress is pretty bloody good actually. One of only two or three decent Christopher Lambert movies. I enjoyed the 'intestinations', where means stomach implants would be set off, exploding their guts across the walls. Basically its Lambert trying to escape ... Read the complete review

Another film set in the future, 2016 to be exact. In 1993, when the film was released, that seemed an eon away, and as I write this it has dawned on me exactly how close it is now. The US has experienced a population explosion that is getting out of control, and in order to combat it they have brought in a law which states women can only have one child. Christopher Lambert plays John Brennick, and the relative unknown Loryn Locklin plays his wife Karyn. After their baby son dies they decide to break the law and try for another baby, but they are caught as they try to flee to Mexico after finding out Karyn is pregnant. The punishment for ...
