My partner haunted me into seeing this. He's not a huge fan of cinema or film, and it takes a great amount of patience or initial interest to get him along to the cinema. Given then that he was hugely excited by this one, I decided to give it a go. How bad can it be anyway? It has the always watchable Reece Witherspoon and that jackass Vince Vaughan, so its certainly not going to turn out like Christmas With The Kranks. When their plans for the perfect christmas holiday go awry, Brad and Kate are forced to endure their 4 sets of parents for Christmas day. After all, they cant really avoid it, given that the lie they told about their whereabouts has just ... Read the complete review

I had a trip to the pictures this afternoon with my sister to take in the latest Christmas movie to come across my radar, Four Christmases. I must admit I'm not a fan of either of the lead actors, Reese Witherspoon and Vince Vaughn, but the trailers I'd seen looked amusing and I liked the concept of the film so I talked my sister into accompanying me to Cineworld to see it. I must say that I enjoyed the film from the outset, despite the fact that this is the total opposite to anything I'd usually choose to watch. It's a fluffy feel-good comedy which is perfect for the festive period, there's a basic storyline but this is used more as a thread to pull ... Read the complete review

~ Spilt in Four ~ Last night after a hard day job hunting and having interviews, we went to our local blockbuster and rented four films for £10. One of these which we watched last night was 'Four Christmases'. I remember this coming out a while ago and thinking it looked quite funny but forgot all about it till now. What made me noticed the film was mainly the famous cast and the plot. The cast consists of a range of well known stars including Vince Vaughan and Reese Witherspoon. I really like Vince and find his comedy great to watch, so this was a main reason for choosing the film. The film also included many other stars who I recognised playing the ... Rating:
Vince Vaughn sadly has had a rather dry run of good comic roles in the last few years; in fact, the last solid, and truly funny role to come to mind was his turn in 2005's Wedding Crashes. Four Christmases isn't an offensively bad film, just not a particularly good one, and not one that best showcases his talents, despite some decent chemistry with his co-star Reese Witherspoon. The premise involves Orlando "Brad" McVie (Vince Vaughn) and Kate (Reese Witherspoon), an unmarried couple who decide every Christmas to venture to a sunny and exotic location in order to avoid the turmoil of their parents, both sets of who are divorced, making things rather ... Brad and Kate are a happily in love couple who enjoy having fun without the responsibilities of marriage or children. For three years they've successfully managed to dodge the unwelcome Christmas season usually spent with family and have jetted off to many exotic locations. This year, having told each set of divorced parents that they won't be able to make Christmas again due to important charity work, they excitedly pack their bags ready for a hot Christmas in Fiji together. But arriving at the airport they find that their flight has been cancelled due to bad weather. When a news reporter interviews them, their families find out where they are and Brad and Kate both ...
