Frantic is a 1988 thriller directed by Roman Polanski and starring Harrison Ford as a surgeon searching in Paris for his missing wife. The film didn't have a great return at the box office upon its release, but it was a critical success and has been regarded as one of Ford's most raw and believable roles to date. Ford stars as Dr Richard Walker, a surgeon visiting Paris for a medical conference. His wife disappears following the confusion over picking up the wrong suitcase, and thus ensures a frantic chase where Walker teams up with Michele, a career smuggler, whose case his wife picked up by mistake. Roman Polanski's "The Fearless Vampire Killers" is one of my favourite movies of all time. "Rosemary's Baby" is critically acclaimed as one of the creepiest movies ever made, despite my opinion that it's a bit pants. "Chinatown" is simply fantastic and easily one of the top ten films of all time for my money. Everything this director has produced since that 1974 masterpiece? Crap. Well, crap by the standards he laid down in the late 60s to mid 70s anyway but even so, he's produced nothing but distinctly average thrillers for the last 28 years.
