Although Seinfeld will no doubt remain my favourite sitmcom of all time for the very disatant future, I must put a shout out to the much reveared Frasier. A spin off from Cheers with one of the shows lesser characters was an a breath of fresh air when it hit our screens. Frasier , a radio psychiatrist is joined by his brother Niles who is also a well respected pshychiatrist and together they are with their Father Martin Crane, an Ex-cop who has been retired thanks to a gunshot wound to the hip and his physiotherpist/housemaid Daphne. What we learn from season one is that Frasier and Niles are clearly mummy's boys, however their mother passed away ... Read the complete review

Frasier - Season One If you were to count the best sitcoms of the 1990s on one hand, this would be one of them. It might be seen as the culmination of the traditional format, and the scripts and performances sparkle. Elsewhere, shows such as Seinfeld and Larry Sanders were beginning to deconstruct the situation comedy and may have exerted greater cultural influence on the future of the genre. But Frasier is more than the sum of its own influences; its legacy rests in its quality. Kelsey Grammar plays uptight psychiatrist Dr Frasier Crane, a character familiar to audiences when the program debuted in 1993, as he had appeared in the final nine ... Read the complete review

We've been huge Frasier fans in our household for years - the twists and turns in the lives of radio psychiatrist Frasier, his neurotic brother Niles, their ex-cop dad Martin, the English physical therapist Daphne and the man-eater Roz, combined with brilliantly sharp writing have kept us in stitches. And when we found out that it was all to come to an end, and in the same year as Friends, the only consolation was they brought out the first two seasons on DVD. That and Paramount Comedy have let us get our fixes!!! So here is my rundown of the first series on DVD, with a few background notes and opinions thrown in.. First things first.. You know how ... Two of my favourite episodes come from season 1 THE GOOD SON: This is actually the first ever episode [PILOT] Everything here is set up so nice and smoothly for all the future episodes to come. This was the first of many episodes to win an Emmy award! Frasier has returned to his home city of Seattle to work as a radio pshyciatrist He's been living in Boston were his life has become dull and flat as he was spending a lot of time drinking and wasting his time in a downtown bar!- Sound familiar?..... So the opening story introduces Frasier and brother Niles[ ALSO A PSHYCIATRIST] and immediately shows us the pedantic competitive nature of ... Read the complete review

As any show that is successful a spiin off is necessary. It is normal that the spin off is not as good as the original show. Well this is a exception, this series tops Cheers as we see the delightful life of Frasier Crane in all its entireness. We see Frasier Crane a psychologist working on radio to give advice work with his producer Roz who get on great. Martin his dad moves in with him but Frasier doesnt want him around. Throughout the season they learn to adjust to each other's indifferences. Niles is his brother, also a psychologist who can be quite annoying. Frasier hires Daphne a healthcare helper to ease Martin and ask her to help Martin get back on ... Read the complete review
