This film was made in 2001 by Tom Green, some may recognise him as Drew Barrymore's ex Husband, others as the guy who is awful in Charlies Angels who possibly only got the part because he was Drew Barrymore's husband at the time. Anyway, Tom Green is a 'comedian' whose style of comedy was basically to humiliate his own parents and be gross, this was around the time of Jackass and such things, as you can imagine this film is not Jules et Jim, to be fair it makes American Pie look cerebral and Tom Green makes Adam Sandler look like Sir John Guilgud, anyway personal rant over, this film was used as a vehicle for Green's own style of comedy. After a night out in London a little while ago, it was suggested that I should borrow Freddie Got Fingered. I liked Tom Green in Road Trip but found his TV show was a step to far so I wasn’t sure how I’d find a whole film of him. It looked like an excellent film to watch after a night out but instead I decided to watch it without partaking in any alcohol. Whether this would turn out to be a good idea or not would be something I’d find out in the following hour and a half. Tom Green plays Gord Brodie a 28 year old unemployed animator still living in his parents basement. That is until he decides to follow his dream and head off to Hollywood to work in a cheese ... Sorry about the above title. I know everybody is complaining about putting titles up that are just a hook into getting you to read them and then the op turns out to be drivel. Well, this one isn't. Although the film I'm giving the op about IS drivel. Tom Greene is a comedian and MTV host. He is best known for being the guy with the goatee telling the story of Road Trip. He is in an advert for antiperspirant with some tigers and I believe he's also married to Drew Barrymore, who makes a cameo appearance. ~Synopsis~ Gordy (Tome Green) is 28 and still lives at home with his parents (Rip Torn & Julie Hagerty) and dreams of becoming an ... Tom Green is arguably one of the freshest, most entertaining comedians around at the moment. At the same time he is easily one of the grossest and often his humour is very difficult to understand or for that matter to stomach. There is gross humour in the style of an American Pie type gross humour and there is what Tom Green does when allowed to run wild. Freddy Got Fingered is the perfect example of why he needs something to keep him in check like MTV where his show is aired. There not much point me going on and on about this movie because at the end of the day a couple of scene descriptions will tell you whether you want to watch it or not. So lets start ... Freddy Got Fingered was released in 2001 and is a comedy which stars Tom Green who was also the director & the writer of the film so it really does reflect his personality & sense of humour quite a lot. The plot of the film follows Gordon "Gord" Brody (Green) who decides to leave home after being told by his Dad that he is wasting his life and his ideas are stupid and head off to try and get himself a TV contract by showing off his sketches/cartoons to studio producers. Along the way Gord gets in to lots of trouble and the main elements of the film include shock humour & gross-out comedy and many of the 'funny' moments just ... Read the complete review
