Friday is an awesome film. I hadn't actually even heard of it, but I saw it in the video shop with Ice Cube on the front and knew it had to be good.

And it is.

Set in Compton, LA, the film is about a lad called Craig who ain't got no job, so ain't got sh*t to do (its friday by the way).
He hangs out with his best mate, Smokey, who is called that because he just smokes weed all day long.
The film just watches them sitting on a porch, which doesn't sound terribly exciting, but they watch the world go by and stories come out from what they see.
Smokey is in trouble though - he owes the 'hood leader, The Worm (with a perm!), $200 for some weed. The Worm tells Smokey 'f*ckin with my money is like f*ckin with my emotions man, so you better get my money'

Smokey and Craig then have to think of ways to get the money. They don't get it in time, so theres a drive-by (but they don't get hurt).

There is also a neighbourhood bully called Debo, who goes around taking things off innocent people.

Friday is an awesome film and definitely deserves to be watched. There is also a sequel called, erm, Next Friday which is good as well.

Favourite line: 'You got Knocked the f*ck out!!'
