I didn't get round to finishing off my spate of Jason reviews a few weeks ago, and with only two films left to review, I might as well see it through. As I am feeling generous today, I might even find something nice to say about it. Starting off with Jason back in the waters of Crystal Lake, a bolt of lighting (again) shoots through him and brings him back to life. In the blink of an eye, Jason is running amok with his machette, hunting down another batch of randy teens. Just to strike a balance though, the cast of teens are led by a busty teen called Rennie who just happens to have half a brain. doesn't indulge in sexual activity and seems game for the ... Jason Takes Manhattan: Many have argued that this movie should perhaps have been titled “Friday the 13th: The Final Insult”, because it is by far the worst in the series and a truly awful movie. In fact, if I were comiling a list of the worst horror movies ever made then this would rank quite high up there for a whole heap of reasons - it may even make a top ten of all time bad movies. As cash-ins go this has to bo one of the worst and ought to have put the final nail in Jason’s coffin, but somehow he managed to survive again for yet another sequel after this - perhaps only because the film studio couldn’t leave a series this long on such a bad ... Well the usual thing starts it off a boat with two lovers on sets anchor next to crystal lake and manages to wake up Jason. He gets on the boat and kills the two then sails to the big cruise liner the two were heading to. They were in a graduating class and were going on a cruise, Jason gets on the cruise liner and kills most of the people on. The main character is a girl who was taught to swim by her guardian on camp crystal lake by pushing her over the side of the row boat, while nearly drwoning Jason as a kid tries to drag her down. The boat arrives at manhattan with most of the crew dead apartfrom a few so Jason gets off and starts killing more people. ... Read the complete review

Matters had been looking up for the Friday the 13th series. Parts VI and VII were two of the strongest entries in the series. By making Jason a supernatural entity, by using humour and by increasing production values, they may still have been bad movies but at least they were executed well. Unfortunately the increased budget of this, the eighth instalment, could not provide enough polish to spruce up a noticeably tired looking turd. And turds are exactly what Crystal Lake's least favourite son is reduced to wading through during the film's "thrilling" final act, as Jason ends up chasing his prey down New York's sewer system. It's a fitting place to end this ... Read the complete review

I went to the video store today and I was about to rent Universal soldier 2 on DVD but it was already rented by someone else (there was only one copy) so I couldn't leave without renting something. The first movie I saw in front of me was this one and I decided to watch it. Before I watch it I saw some comments and the rating and I was disappointed. The movie started as silly as all the other sequels of the series but not as bad as part 5 for example. But when they got to Manhattan the movie became pretty cool and it was a surprise to me cause I didn't expect it. The scenes underground and at the subway were scary and original in some way. Well, there were some ... Read the complete review
