A review of just the film, this was the fourth in the series and was originally supposed to be the last. The film was originally released in 1984, but you can get this on region 2 DVD for around £4 or £5. Emergency crews are clearing up after a third massacre at Crystal Lake. Amidst the bodies of the teenagers they find the body of Jason Voorhees, still wearing his hockey mask, slain by an axe blow to the head. Transported to the local hospital, a doctor and nurse pay little attention to the killer's body - until it's too late.... Meanwhile, a group of friends is driving out to Crystal Lake for a break in the countryside. Arriving at their new ... Read the complete review

Friday the 13th: Part 4 - "The Final Chapter"...surely they were having a laugh with the title alone. The series was in its ninth incarnation the last time I bothered looking and I'm sure there are a few more in the pipeline to cash-in on the recent slasher flick revival - God help us all. The fourth one is actually quite good though when compared to some of the others in the series, so its not a bad place to start - especially for the first 10/15 mintues anyway whihc are more than enough to satisfy any gore hound. Our murderous friend died at the end of the third movie, an axe to the forehead surely dispatching him for good this time - at least so ... Read the complete review

Directed by joseph(rosemarys killer)zito The fourth in the never ending voorhees saga .This does however stand out as one of the stronger entries in the series . Greatly helped by the grusesome make up effects of horror legend tom savini. Featuring some of the most grusome deaths in any of the slasher films and by far the best jason makeup up of the lot. The story if you can call it that has the unnstopable jason voorhees returning to life in a hospital morgue after his last outing. He brutaly butchers the first of many copulatig couples before returning to camp crystal lake to continue where he left off. A double body count ensuses and culmiates in old ... Like this was the final chapter theres only another 5 on video and another being made right now which is set in space and has David Cronenberg in it. This one isnt as bad as parts two or three and is probably because of the reuturn of gore master Tom Savini and cheesy-comedy icon Corey Feldman. The plot is that Jason isnt really dead and comes back ot life in a hospital killing a few Doctors and Nurses before setting off for Camp Blood and crystal lake. A new family has moved in with a young horror fan Tommy Jarvis (Corey Feldman). Jason hacks and slashes through more teenagers before coming face to face with Tommy, and who wins? I wont tell you. Despite only being number 4 in the series, the makers of the Friday The 13th series decided to abandon the number, a ploy often used by studio's who want people to disassociate a film from the sequel taboo. Unfortunately, the Friday films are largely known for being attrocious anyway, so no amount of marketing ploy or disassociation will make anybody see them if they aren't fans. Number 4 is labelled The Final Chapter, another ploy to pull the punters in. Will Jason be destroyed by his own machete? Will he be ousted by the young Tommy Jarvis, who has more wit and will than most of the rest of the cast of the entire series? Or will he simply hang up his ... Read the complete review
