~~~Friends~~~ Series 1 to 10 ~ 15th Anniversary boxset ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ My partner has been working a lot lately but last weekend we decided to settle in with a list of dvd's and relax, but we fancied something new so we popped to Asda to stock up. As soon as we entered the shop we found the Friends box set and jumped at buying it at the bargain price of £37. I did watch the series when it was first shown on tv and recently I have watched a few repeats on E4. For those of you that have not had the pleasure of watching it, you may be excused for forgetting that it was first released in 1994 and ran until 2004, with 236 ... Read the complete review
Amazon.co.uk recently dropped this set to £37.99 so I absolutely HAD to pick it up; it's a total steal at less than £4 per season! For £38, you're getting 236 episodes, which is an absolutely bargain, I think most of you will agree. Friends is a show that virtually everyone knows, and while it's not as clever as the likes of Frasier and does take the easy route quite a lot of the time, it is admittedly quite fun thanks to its cast that have by the end come to approximate members of our own family with their familiarity now. The cast really do make this show what it is - Jennifer Anniston is Rachel Green, a hot-shot who wants to get lots of money and ... Read the complete review
I have recently won a £50 Amazon gift voucher from Ciao - the first thing I have ever won from a website - and I decided to treat myself to something that I have wanted for a long time - a full set of the DVDs of the sit com Friends. I logged into www.amazon.co.uk and searched for Friends and was thrilled to find that a full set of DVDs covering all ten series would only cost me £39.68! I was expecting the cost to be higher than this so I was well pleased and was able to get the new Michael McIntyre DVD with the rest of the value of my voucher. I remember watching the series in the 90's when it was first screened and I used to love it so watching ... Read the complete review
I have owned the single DVDs for each series and collected as I went but decided to splash out on this 15th Anniversary Box Set. I received it around a month ago and can honestly say it is money well spent. Not only does it come in a lovely presentation box but there are bundles of extras. 1) All episodes are the extended US versions which means some people who have the single DVD versions won't have this. 2) Each Series box contains 4 single sided DVDs which is a major plus. Previously the series was put on double sided DVDs and the labelling wasn't very clear. Now you get 4 discs per series. 3) In addition to the episodes for each ... Read the complete review
Friends was a mainly 90's US TV comedy series following the lifes of a group of friends (hence the title) as they live through their 20's. There are 6 main characters (Ross, Chandler, Joey, Rachel, Monica and Phoebe) as well as an assortment of long standing bit parts as well as several famous special guests throughout the lifespan of the series. The show is mainly lighthearted since it is a comedy but I think the big draw is that throughout each series, a general story is progressed through and a development of the characters can be seen. This box set captures all of the episodes and has I believe over 5 hours of extended episodes and gag reels as well as ... Read the complete review
