Fright Night (2011) (DVD): The return of vampires that are actually scary... (1056 words)

Finally. A supernatural movie in which the vampires are supposed to scare you, not dazzle you with their sparkling skin. Admittedly, whilst the trailer for Fright Night looked really great, I thought the actual movie was going to be really bad. The still adverts made it look like it was going to a be a typical teen horror movie where a crazy psycho, in this case, a vampire, moves in next door, but nobody believes the teenagers because the neighbour is just so god-damn charming. Surprisingly, Fright Night was nothing like that. Though I suppose I should've known that it was going to be really good, I mean, David Tennant is in it. For those of you who haven't ...  Read the complete review

Fright Night Re-Vamped (652 words)

I was interested in seeing this when it came out at the cinema because I like vampire flicks and Fright Night made quite an entry in the film world when the original was released back in 1985. Star - Colin Farrell Genre - Horror County - USA Certificate - 15 Run Time - 106 minutes Blockbusters - £2 per night Amazon - £5.00 DVD (£9.99 Blue Ray) ------------------------------------------------ So, Fright Night, the surprise remake of the perfectly fine original (1985), a film that did not need remaking, as was the case with 21 Jump Street, also remade last year by the same studio. But that was our generation and Hollywood is short on originality these days and so why not remake everything in 3D for the less demanding youth of today. It's as if Hollywood is deciding which movies to make by flipping through their DVD ...  Read the complete review

Fright Night- Welcome to the Anti-Twilight! (1553 words)

Sorry for lack of posting lately, but I took an awesome long weekend to Jersey for Jersey Live! Amongst the music, the drinking and general happenings of the eventful weekend, we did manage a trip (or two) to the cinema. And one of these outings was to see Fright Night in 3-D. Out of all the remakes and reboots that have, or are going to, grace our screens this year, Fright Night is the one that has interested me the most, for many reasons. I did really enjoy the 1985 cult original, it truly is one of the most definitive 80′s movies, deftly handling laughs and horror to establish a fine balance, creating a fun ride. So there was the question as to whether this .  Read the complete review
