Fright Night is a rather wonderful piece of 80s cinema, which I thoroughly recommend watching. Released in 1985, it is a cross between Tales From the Crypt, Rear Window and just about every vampire movie ever. Quite simply, randy teenager Charley Brewster witnesses new neighbours moving in next door and is convinced that the dashing Jerry Dandrige is a vampire. We follow him as he confronts Dandrige and tries to warn his friends and loved ones of the impending threat, whilst trying to recruit TV's most famous vampire hunter Peter Vincent to help his cause. What follows is an absolutely fantastic movie. Given an 18 rating over here in the UK (although there is ... Read the complete review

Hooray! Another vampire-orientated horror movie...just what the genre needs! That makes how many now? Well, easily into 4 figures I expect, possibly 5 or more and yet the fascination never seems to wain does it? Or does it. Well, for me, the answer would have to be a resounding NO! I love vampire movies, right from the original Nosferatu and Vampyre classics, upto the more recent Interview With The Vampire and (at a push) Razor Blade Smile(despite it being a truly awful movie). Fright Night is one of the relatively newer versions of the old theme, produced as it was in the mid 80s, becoming something of a classic due to some clever story-telling and an ... Fright Night (Directed by Tom Holland) I abolutely loved this movie, it is entertaining, humorous and in parts almost scary. An as all great films should have, the atmospherics and sound effects were quite outstanding. The cast also boasted some big names which included acting greats such as Chris Sarandon, Roddy Mcdowell and William Ragsdale. Basiaclly without ruining the film for others reading this, the film follows the story of a high school aged boy played by William Ragsdale, who suspects his new neighbor (Chris Sarandon) of being a Vampire. After witnessing the "Vampiric" activity he sets upon a mission (with ... Read the complete review

Fright Night is a vampire movie, with a difference. If you expect to see the usual type of vampire movie, you will be very disappointed, with this film. The story revolves around a young lad called Charlie. When a vampire type man moves into an old spooky mansion next door to Charlie. Charlie starts seeing strange going ons. Charlie finds out that Dracula is seducing and then killing the local woman. Of course, when he try's to tell anyone about it, nobody will believe him. Well would you? Charlie just doesn't know where to go for help. That is until he sees a late night horror show produced by Roddy Mcdowall. Charlie asks ... Read the complete review

This clever, knowing vampire film concerns a teenage boy with girlfriend troubles who starts to suspect there's something a little odd about the suave, handsome gentleman who has moved in next door. When he finally spots his neighbour sinking sharpened fangs into a young woman from his bedroom window, he decides to enlist a TV horror-movie host as a vampire-slayer. Starting off as just another mindless teen comedy, FRIGHT NIGHT finally becomes a rather old-fashioned vampire movie, where garlic and stakes through the heart really do work. Roddy McDowell (PLANET OF THE APES) is amusing as the fading television star who warns his viewers to beware of vampires, ... Read the complete review
