A COMPARISON WITH THE BOOK, FOR HP LOVECRAFT ENTHUSIASTS From Beyond is based on HP Lovecraft's very short story of the same name. The fact that the story is so short, approximately nine pages, means that there is not that much to transfer to screen. Basically the film covers the material in the short story within the first few minutes of the film, before the credits. This is where two doctors of physics Crawford Tillinghast and Edward Pretorious unlock a sixth sense experience things beyond normal conception. From the creators of the most excellent film, 'Reanimator' comes another triumphant modern revisioning of an H.P. Lovecraft tales of terror. This time, it is the story 'From Beyond', and the results may well have made poor H.P shiver with fear. The plot concerns a scientist, mad in the classic sense, whose invention of a 'sonic resonator' machine allows people to see into other dimension. Directed by stuart(reannimator)gordon and featureing gordon favourites jeffrey combs and barbara crampton.Dr pretoriuos played by ted(basket case 2)sorel has invented a device that stimmulates the sixth sense within human biengs but in doing so has opened a door way to an allternate universe populated by bizzare and deadly creatures. Falling victim to these beings pretorius is transformed in to hideous perverted monster who will stop at nothing to prevent an investigation and atempted destruction of his precious research and unique mind resonator.
