Advantages: Story.Frost and Nixon's performances

Disadvantages: Might not appeal to many

Being a Ron Howard fan,i was eagerly awaiting this film, more so because this was a realistic drama, something that is Howard's forte! Making a film on a real story is tough, and the fact that it was a public issue didn't make it any easier. But Howard and his set of writers took up the challenge and I have to say they succeeded to strike an impact on the viewer's mind.

The film starts off establishing both the characters, both as diverse as they get. The fact that a TV host like Frost with a comic reputation can hold an interview with the president of united states might leave you with a laughter but his character is much underrated, till the ending ofcourse!

I don't need to get into the plot,i guess most are familiar with it.The casting deserves a mention here. Casting for Nixon was probably easier, but its Michael Sheen as Frost who takes the cake, portraying a rather complex character.Frost is bit arrogant,complacent,laidback, yet he is focussed and intelligent. Its the powerful interaction between these two actors which take this film to the next level.

The plot is very fluent in its flow, and keeps the viewer interested.Its a shame that the Oscars chose Slumdog last year, but i guess this one deserved a few oscars.Easily the second best film of last year, closely following Benjamin Button's lead.
