Fun with Dick and Jane was a remake of an old classic released in 2005 and directed by Dean Parisot.
This film is also rated as a certificate 12. Which is understandable.

This film sees actor Jim Carrey take the lead roll in this up to date remake oringinally released in 1977. The film is a comedy and sees Jim, Dick Harper, and Tea Leoni, Jane Harper become thieves/ robbers.
Together the live a high class life but this soon falls apart when Dick loses his job from a company that is raking in millions of dollars. The head of the company has been selling company shares to make his own profit at the employees expense unbeknown to them. This leaves him physically swimming in cash.

With Dick without a job this leaves the couple with a bit of a situation and to keep their high class lifestyle they have to resort to new ways of bringing in their income. One idea that springs to mind is robbery. Although this unlikely pair have no experience or skill in being thieves they have to start somewhere. That somewhere starts with very small shops. Dick uses a water pistol to threaten and hold-up stores whilst his wife Jane waits outside in the car. Little to their knowledge they start to get a thrill of stealing and the stakes start getting higher and higher.

These stakes get so high that Dick and Jane start to target Dick's old boss, he has gotten away with everything until now. This unforeseen duo are about ready to take back what was theirs and the companies. Revenge is most definitely sweet.

The film is very well made, Jim Carrey puts in a brilliant performance and the loony ideas that are brought up keep the laughs coming. Jim Carrey as always is back to full flight in his comedic role. Tea also puts in a top notch performance and plays Jim's wife brilliantly. I didn't really rate her but can see that actually she did very well in this. It seems to keep the old fashioned comedy and ideas but bringing it up to date too. A brilliant film that's funny and well filmed. All of the cast do put in excellent performances and the script is well written, the laughs are there , the crudeness is there, and even the lunacy is in there. They all make for an enjoyable hour and a half.
Go and rent or buy this film, you wont be disappointed.
